Mr Vahé Cooper is a dual-qualified Specialist in Oral Surgery with extensive experience across both dentistry and medicine. Holding a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from King’s College London, he combines clinical expertise with a strong academic and leadership background.
Vahé has worked across Oral Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in hospital and primary care settings, delivering complex surgical procedures and managing challenging cases, including highly anxious patients and those requiring special care. His approach prioritises patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
As a Consultant Oral Surgeon for Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust and a Specialist Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, Vahé leads advanced surgical services and plays a key role in multidisciplinary patient care. He also serves as Dental Core Training Programme Director for the East of England, overseeing the design, quality and delivery of postgraduate training for more than 50 trainees across the region.
In his role as Divisional Medical Director for Planned Care, he brings extensive knowledge of the NHS landscape and significant experience in the commissioning and development of clinical services.
Vahé’s leadership extends to curriculum design and educational governance. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in Oral Surgery and MFDS examinations, an OMFS mentor, and an educational supervisor for dentists and doctors.
He sits on the Medical Education Committee at Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Dental Core Training Advisory Group, and the new curriculum development team. His influence in service development includes securing multiple Level 2 Oral Surgery tenders across the East of England and contributing to the Oral Surgery Managed Clinical Network for Essex and Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

In addition to his NHS roles, Vahé provides specialist Oral Surgery services through his private practice at Harley Street Maxillofacial Clinic and London Bridge Hospital. He offers expert care for patients seeking advanced Oral Surgery in a private setting.
